Visual Citadel is gated. This would mean that Visual Citadel can only get contributions by a few specific approved people, but can still be read by everyone. The reason we do this is because A) everyone here is quite unfamiliar with the ins-and-outs of wikis and MediaWiki currently, and B) we'd like to direct our focus more toward the archiving itself rather than managing a community.
Will VC ever be publicly editable?
Probably. Maybe. We're not ruling it out, we'll just do if and when it feels right.
